Ace Rimmer
"What a guy!"
Ace Rimmer is from an Alternate Dimension. His life was the same as 'our' Arnold Rimmer until age 7. In his dimension, Ace was kept back a year at school, which (due to the humilation of being a clear foot taller than everyone else in the class) caused him to fight back and become a high achiever. His real name is Arnold, Ace is just a nick-name, ironically enough the same nick-name 'our' Arnold wanted at school.
'Our' Arnold's impression of 'Ace' is that he is a "smug, self-satisfied git" Arnold did not like him at all..... plainly his feelings stem from jealously...
Ace's death: He caught the business end of a neutron tank in Dimension 165. However, he was only one of many Ace Rimmer's!
A new Ace returns to 'our' dimension, dying.... and he asks Arnold to become the new Ace Rimmer! Ace trains Arnold during his final few hours. It's later revealed that there have been billions of Ace Rimmers... all passing the torch to the next... saving all the different dimensions from evil... The last we see of Arnold Rimmer is him leaving Starbug as Ace... (As at series 7) Both series Eight and the Red Dwarf motion picture will feature Rimmer again....
